The portability of the subscription is a huge benefit. I do NOT miss the days of the multi-CD installations. Adobe provides excellent value across all of their plans (I know this will be an unpopular opinion), and ethics dictate that if you are using a service, you should pay for that service. No matter what, you benefit greatly from scraping up the cash to get your own subscription. In a pinch, you might be able to do a 30-day demo as well. Abuse of this method could lead to Adobe restricting the number of logins, and I would also advise you not to do this. If you know someone who 'needs to use your computer to do some work,' and they are only using one slot in their plan, they can log in to your machine to authorize and use the software, and it's possible that they forget to log out. This really helps facilitate hybrid/work-from-home workflows. No cost solution: Adobe (currently) allows two machines to have access to a Creative Cloud subscription. This almost certainly violates Adobe's ToS, and I recommend against doing this. You can offer to put it on your credit card if they will grant you access to their Adobe account.
Low cost solution: If you are an educator or a student (or know someone who is), you/they will possibly have access to a low-cost or even free subscription.
